What are Bicycle Friendly Businesses?

Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) recognition is a component of Bicycle Friendly America, a program of the national League of American Bicyclists. It honors organizations of all types, including government agencies and non-profits, who have gone out of their way to make bicycling to their location and throughout their communities easy and inviting to their employees and guests.

Since 2022, Bike Fitchburg has engaged in a business outreach program with its partners, the local City of Fitchburg government and the Fitchburg Chamber Visitors + Business Bureau. Our efforts have three components: improving bike parking, applying for Bicycle Friendly Business recognition, and (for retailers) recruiting new merchants into the Bicycle Benefits incentive program for guests arriving by bike.
